European Union
I have two continuing collaborative research projects regarding the European Union. The first concerns analysis of 'soft law' forms and the Open Method of Coordination. The second entails the examination of the role of regions in the EU, and emergent relations between subnational units and EU institutions. This relationship is formally mediated through Members States, but the work of the Committee of the Regions and efforts initiated by regions themselves are of interest and analytical importance. This work in undertaken with colleagues in Britain and Ireland.
